Kislay is a non-profit cultural forum established in 1980 in Bihar, rooted in the belief that theatre and visual arts can spark meaningful dialogue and social change. With 150+ performances, exhibitions, and festivals to our name, we have spent decades crafting powerful cultural narratives that connect with people across generations, especially students, educators, and grassroots communities.

HISTORY
THE HISTORY OF OUR AGENCY
Established in 1980, Kislay emerged at a time when Bihar’s cultural expressions needed a strong, structured platform to thrive. Born out of the belief that theatre and art can speak louder than mere words, Kislay began its journey by staging thought-provoking performances, organizing exhibitions, and hosting cultural festivals that reflected the concerns of the time.
Over the years, it has conducted more than 150 stage productions and numerous community programs, many in collaboration with schools, local artists, and civic bodies. This longstanding commitment has earned Kislay both respect and relevance, particularly in the area of using performing arts as a tool for social education.
Through decades of consistent engagement, Kislay has not only built a legacy of creative expression but has also shaped cultural awareness across generations.

While our roots lie in visual and performing arts—using theatre, exhibitions, and festivals as tools for education and engagement—we are equally committed to creating scalable, impact-driven workshop-based programs that go beyond the stage and into classrooms, communities, and public spaces.
Our approach is not limited to performance; we design initiatives that combine cultural expression with actionable learning—especially for the youth. Our upcoming environment-focused school program is a natural extension of this vision, where we aim to cultivate ecological awareness through storytelling, dramatised learning, and participatory experiences.
By merging the arts with social and environmental concerns, Kislay aspires to reach every corner of the state, and beyond, leaving lasting impressions that inspire change, one performance, one workshop, one dialogue at a time.

THE ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY
We produce socially relevant plays and visual performances that travel from auditoriums to open grounds, reaching people where they are, and encouraging collective reflection.
BRAINSTORMING IS IN OUR DNA
Our hands-on, story-led workshops in schools and communities equip participants with tools to think, express, and act. These sessions blend performance, roleplay, and discussion, and are easily scalable for statewide impact.
COMPUTERS ARE OUR HABITAT
From street theatre to school clubs, we design campaigns that combine art with advocacy, bringing sustainability, gender justice, and inclusion into the public imagination.
